WHAT IS A CROWN
A Custom Cover That Restores Your Tooth
A dental crown is a ceramic covering custom-shaped to fit over your tooth. It restores the original shape, size, and strength when there's too much damage for a filling to handle on its own.
At Essential Dentistry, every crown is shaped, shaded, and bonded under Dr. Williams' care — typically finished in two appointments roughly 10 days apart.

HOW IT WORKS
From First Scan to Final Crown
1
Consultation & Scan
Dr. Williams reviews your tooth, takes a 3D digital scan with an intraoral scanner, and confirms a crown is the right approach for your case.
2
Tooth Prep & Temp
The tooth is gently prepared to fit your custom crown. A temporary is placed so you can chew comfortably while your new crown is made.
3
Custom Fabrication
Your scan is sent to a dental lab where the crown is shaped, shaded, and finished to match your other teeth. Typically takes about 10 days.
4
Bonding & Finishing
The temporary comes off, the tooth is cleaned, and your new ceramic crown is bonded into place. We check the fit and bite before you leave.

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU
When Crowns Are the Right Call
A crown is typically recommended when your tooth has more damage than a filling can fix but the root is still healthy enough to save. You may be a good candidate if you have:
Extensive decay too large for a filling
A cracked, broken, or severely worn tooth
An existing large filling that's failing
A tooth that has had root canal treatment
A tooth you want to strengthen and protect long-term
For more cosmetic concerns or severe structural issues, Dr. Williams may suggest veneers, a bridge, or another option instead.
OUR APPROACH
Crowns That Look Like You
Same Dentist, Every Visit
Every crown case is overseen by Dr. Williams personally — from your first scan to the final bond. No hand-offs mid-treatment, no surprises.
Skip the Goopy Trays
A fully digital intraoral scanner replaces traditional impression material. Faster, more accurate, and significantly more comfortable.
Naturally Matched
Each crown is shaded against your real teeth in natural light, not a generic chart, so the result blends with the rest of your smile.
