At Essential Dentistry, every checkup includes a thorough hygiene cleaning, dentist exam, X-rays as needed, and an iTero wellness scan. We use that time to catch small problems early so you can avoid bigger ones down the road.

Hygiene Cleaning
Your hygienist removes plaque and tartar your toothbrush can't reach, polishes the surface, and flosses between every tooth.

Comprehensive Exam
Dr. Williams checks each tooth, your gums, your bite, and any existing restoration work for early signs of decay or wear.

Digital X-Rays (As Needed)
Low-radiation digital X-rays let us see what's happening below the gum line. Typically every 12 to 18 months for healthy adults.

iTero Wellness Scan
A 3D scan of your teeth and tissues using the iTero Scanner — so you can see exactly what we see. Included at every cleaning visit at no extra cost.
RECOMMENDED FREQUENCY
A Visit Every Six Months Keeps Things on Track
For most healthy adults, a hygiene cleaning every six months is the right cadence. It catches small issues early, keeps your gums in shape, and gets ahead of anything that's just starting to develop.
Standard cadence: every 6 months for healthy adults
More frequent (3 to 4 months) if you have gum disease, diabetes, or are pregnant
New patients: full comprehensive exam first, then a regular schedule
Children: same 6-month cadence with growth-specific check-ins as needed
